It’s better than watching this insult. I’m tired. I saw nothing of the character I stan for in 3.17. Not even a shadow of her former self. Shows are supposed to hit their stride in the 3rd season, but this one is tanking.
Synopsis. It gives me heartburn to think the “someone close to Bonnie” might seriously, without a hint of a joke, be Jaime. If it’s Elena or anyone not Abby or Jaime (however ridiculous it is), this might honestly be my last episode.

I am really hoping that this is like the Gilbert device situation. Bonnie always forgives Elena *rme* and nothing is ever Elena’s fault but she is sneaky in her revenge on other people. She was sneaky when she messed with Luka.
That would make me very happy. Maybe she told Elena she forgave her because she didn’t know what else to say. What do you say when the person you grew up with and loved is used as an excuse to her hurt you? If she did something like the Gilbert situation again, then it obviously wouldn’t be the high road and it would be “worse” since she’s not some confused newbie witch anymore, but she’d at least be reacting. Word to everything, the ony scenes that I am interested in is Klaus/Bonnie the fact that this ep seems dedicated to the white oak stakes and killing the originals again which Im sure will fail again the ep willl be underwhelming like most of the eps this season.
Also I agree with you I do not want Kat to be unemployed and I know how much she loves TVD and the opportunities it has given her but seriously just :sigh: they need to kill Bonnie off. I think it’s because of something I keep saying when it comes to Klaus: he should be more in the background. Unlike after the 3.09 hiatus, he wasn’t in 3.16, and he’s absent in this episode. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Especially when the villain’s as lame as he is.

I love how you can always tell if fans are abandoning a tv show, based on how many pages of TWOP posts after the eps… If you compare from one season to the next, you can see an obvious decline. (This was very noticeable with Smallville.) I take sadistic glee in this and like to think TVD’s losing tons of viewers …too bad The CW keeps shows with abysmal ratings that no other network would tolerate.
I’d feel sorry for some of the actors losing their jobs but at the same time… I can’t help wanting sexist, racist, badly written shows to be cancelled.

I want Bonnie dead too and perhaps she really gets killed off in this season final (although I didn´t think they would kill another regular female character this season) because Kat was really quiet in regards to the final script and TVD in general.
I really want to see her face on screen but if this show treats her like this then please write her off.

Yup, that exactly what it means. This show has done so many things that normal shows don’t do until like season 5. Including start sucking.

*high_five* She was my fave too but like you I eventually gave up on this show. I don´t know when but they stopped airing it in germany and I only watched the other episodes with her in it when they show was cancelled/came to an end.
The thing is JP is the head writer and producer of the show so she does oversee what is being written, but you are right Caroline Dries eps have not exactly been my favourite I feel like she also loves the angsty shipper scenes urgh.

I can see it, if TVD decides he’d be a good love interest for Caroline. 😛

She lost her witch-powers and connection to the earth, which the last ep made out to be kind of a big sacrifice for her. I don’t buy her leaving Jaime and especially Bonnie either. I mean I’m glad she left because it’s not like they were doing anything her. Her relationship with Bonnie was not something they cared about. Caroline/Bill sucked, but I’m gonna say Bonnie/Abby didn’t even make up. And just like Lucy, we probably won’t see her again. WHAT THE HELL WAS THE POINT OF KILLING HER????!!! Jesus CHRIST, this is frustrating. And I don’t even get the point of introducing Bonnie’s mother in the first place. Like, none of this has been worth it for me. I reject such a big part of this show’s canon when it comes to Abby. This show doesn’t know how to write Black guest stars who last a couple of episodes. Every member of the Martin family, and now Abby. Oh and Harper. They’ve now had 5 black characters who have been on for a couple of episodes with a so- called storyline and all they’ve done is botch or stall it in the end before getting them off the show. And yeah, some of the White guest stars do suffer from this too, but like I’ve said elsewhere there are plenty of White regulars to make up for that, and that’s an important thing to note. Bonnie does NOT make up for Greta, Jonas, Luka, Harper, and now Abby. This season she’s actually joined their ranks. I can’t say, hey these Black guest stars’ stories get messed up, but at least I have Bonnie. Nope. Because she’s usually having a story WITH them. So what does that say? Ugh.

But I can also see some poor bystanders dieing, because that will always happen. I can´t see it being Bonnie, I just can´t see it, but the longer I think about it the more I wish it so that I can be free of this mess.
I still have my list of three people out of the regular cast who could die:
Alaric – now I want it even more, he is so useless and I want to see him gone because everyone is like easy peasy lemon squeezy, but he killed two people. And he is crazy whatever Bonnie did with the spell, at least he should go into a Asylum like Samantha.
Klaus – the whole sl with the group killing him and failing for the millionth time would be ridic, but the fandom loves him and the actors too and also JP so we know how this could end
Tyler – if Klaus survives then Tyler is probably dead for sure … but on the other hand they could torture us with a ToD 2.0 next season including Klaus/Caroline/Tyler.
Rebekah will probably survive and I hate it … I think they are going to kill Esther and Finn, Kol and Elijah are safe in my opinion because Nate tweeted JP and asked if she also wrote some lines for him into the script … and according to Ian S. massive fail with posting the first page he isn´t there … so he must be still alive otherwise he wouldn´t have asked. And Elijah is loved by everyone and I think they want him to be back again next season.

Caroline says that Elena is the saviour of the damned and cursed (reference to the first line of the synopsis), then Stefan and Damon come in and Stefan says “Where is Bonnie, (we or I) texted her” … you see but that´s not the worst because Caroline also has something to say “Her mother left her … again,. We should probably leave her out of this”. I can´t believe it. No one, not even Matt says anything against them and them being the reason for Abby turning and leaving Bonnie again. With such friends you don´t need enemies.
It doesn´t seem like they know what is going on between Klaus/Bonnie … the rest of the clip is like what we saw in the promo. A weapon to kill Klaus and them looking dumbfounded about it. Stefan smirks at the end, because he accomplished so much, probably.

Abby’s death really doesn’t matter, does it? Not for Bonnie, not for anyone. They really did kill her for nothing, didn’t they? I truly don’t know why I’m stumped since death has long stopped meaning something on this show, but damn. Something about their overall lack of investment in Bonnie’s character makes this worse for me. I mean just look at how they have Caroline serving as her translator. There’s no damn emotion in this story (Abby’s death).

I don´t think it will happen much, they will fail that´s crystal clear, because we know Rebekah and Klaus are still alive and who cares about Finn and Sage? If they die nothing will change for the group … I just can´t figure out what the big “game changer” (how much I hate this word) is Candice spoke about in one of her interviews during Paleyfest. I was thinking yesterday about how ridiculous it is that they think they can kill Klaus. I think the inclusion of human Matt, who’s had no experience staking a vampire, is what makes it ridiculous. They’ve completely moved away from the “Witches are the only ones who can kill ANY supernatural creature” thing that Elijah said.

I also discussed something with Emily about fighting against the Originals, last season Stefan and Damon together only survived with luck their fight against Elijah and “killed” him. But this year you don´t even need supernatural strength to knock out an Original see Elena´s headbutt against Rebekah. And now Matt comes in and kills probably one of them in the end, maybe Kol because he broke his hand.
Btw I saw a speculation about killing the Originals tonight over there on ff (warning it contains spoilers for episode 19):
We’re speculating over at v-d.net that killing an Original might lead to the subsequent death of all vampires sired by them.
So tonight when (probably) they manage to kill Finn, Sage, who is likely to be the only vampire sired by him, dies as well, and the team figure that connection out right away.
Hence the trip next episode to trace ancient blood lineages….Elena and Damon need to go find out which Original the Salvatores are descended from so they know who not to kill.
I really love this idea because it will then recall the kind of loyalty vampires should owe the Originals for giving them immortality. We saw a bit of it with Trevor and Elijah in 2×08, and hints of it with the whole no-vampire-can-use-the-dagger thing, but I’d love for this kind of hierarchy to be made official.

That doesn’t make sense to me because then the Salvatores, Caroline, Abby, and anyone else Damon sired (Stefan’s probably never turned someone) would be the only vamps left. Which is not much considering the amount of vamps that are around now. And what about Katherine? And what’s to stop the vamp the Salvatores are defended from from going nuts and killing and turning, since they’d have immunity due to the Sals being snowflakes. Of course these stank writers could do this, but that speculation has a couple of holes to me.
