The Good: Bonnie and Abby! Elijah’s back!!!

The Bad: Forwood, and the show pulls logic out of Bill’s butt. Alaric/Meredith/Damon, and I wonder how bad a doctor Meredith was that she had so many patients dying on her. Stelena (all of their scenes are bad on rewatch). Stefan.

The Ugly: Bonnie kowtowing to Stefan and his rank attitude. Elena’s strength is acknowledged, but Bonnie being strong is written into her DNA so no special attention ever needs to be paid when she achieves a feat.  After outright forgetting that Stefan hurt Elena last episode, I wonder how I can make it to season 5 and still care when the show messes up her pov wrt being hurt by the Salvatores.

I apologize for putting this up late. I wanted to post my review of last week’s TSC first. I didn’t want this post to get too buried.

Note: It’s not that I’m taking forever to put up the rest of the Vid Rec polls, it’s that I’m discontinuing it. I didn’t get enough nominations so just look at that post as…simple vid recommendations. Here are the results for the polls I did put up…..Tyler and Matt tied 50/50 for Family Tree and Weightless respectively. And the best Elena video was And I Will Try to Fix You with 75% of the votes! In this episode, I wonder where the season is going. Also, Faye gets solo magic for a hot minute and uses it to open a locker and set real fire to fake fires. We get much appreciated Diana/Melissa scenes, and Adam freaking explodes the douche meter right before I wonder if he and Cassie have ever kissed before.

Out of curiosity, what do you think are the top two most cringe-worthy spells uttered on TSC so far?

In the strongest episode of the season, everyone is allowed to exist in their own space! Stefan finally pops up and comments on his arc, Caroline finally deals with her immortality, Elena finally talks about how her life was with regards to how it currently is (more of this please), and we get friction between Bonnie and Elena (long overdue). And Matt was adorable! There’s no helping Klaus and Tyler though.

Emma runs for a position she’s barely qualified for, and it turns out Mr. Gold used to be a poor farmer. Another one? Wonder if they’ll reveal Regina came from humble beginnings. Let us all hold our breath.
